HIRE NOWThe Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) recently announced that the moratorium of 30 days for lodgement of statutory documents is set from Dec 1st - 31st, 2021.
The end of the moratorium means the end of the period for exemption of fees for the late lodgement of statutory documents under the Limited Liability Partnerships Act 2012 (LLP 2012) and the Companies Act 2016 (CA 2016).
In a recent statement, SSM said the lodgement of documents could be made via:

SSM services counters (through appointments),
-
Dropbox (without appointments),
-
The Malaysia Corporate Identity (MyCoID), and
-
The Malaysian Business Reporting System (MBRS).
SSM advised its customers to lodge their documents earlier before the moratorium's deadline to evade congestion and issues if they make lodgements at the last minute.
According to the commission, customers must submit the latest corporate documents and comply with laws under the LLP 2012 and the CA 2016 to ensure that the data kept at SSM are the most current information that the public and stakeholders can access.
SSM said that walk-ins for business matters at counters are allowed only at its offices that are in Phase 4 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP). Meanwhile, SSM offices in states under Phase 3 of the NRP will only accept customers with appointments.
What does the moratorium mean?
The SSM provides the 30-day moratorium after the end of the Movement Control Order for its customers to lodge statutory documents under the LLP Act 2012 and CA 2016.
Under the moratorium, customers must submit all statutory documents to the Registrar under both Acts during the MCO period.
The moratorium also waives the late lodgement fee that the customers would otherwise have to pay.
What are the statutory documents included in this moratorium?
The statutory documents involved are:

Statutory documents under the CA 2016; and
-
Statutory documents under the LLPA 2012.
How can you lodge the statutory documents?
You can submit the statutory documents at/through:

SSM Service Counters (via appointment for SSM Offices that are in Phase 3 of the PPN);

Dropbox (without appointment);
-
The Malaysian Business Reporting System (MBRS); and
-
The MyCoID2016 System.
