HIRE NOWJust like applications and software, your employees' knowledge and skills need to be constantly updated to ensure they are not falling behind in this ever changing world. The quality of employees and their development through training and development are the key factors in determining long-term profitability of your business. Therefore, it is good policy to invest in their development so they can increase their productivity.
Training Plan
Here are the steps to develop an effective training plan.
1. Develop Individual Employee Training Plan
-
Values and behavioural gaps are identified during the Performance Appraisal Year-end review process.
-
These gaps and training needs are then documented in an Individual Employee Training Plan for each employee.
-
Copies of the Training Plan are sent to Human Resources for record purposes.
-
2. Approve Training Plan & Budget for Financial Year
-
When the Department Managers approve the employee’s Training Plans, the plans will be sent to Human Resources for approval according to the approved budget.
-
Individual Employee Training Plans that are not approved by Department Managers will be discussed with the employees.
3. Training
-
After Human Resources have approved the Training Plans, Training Providers are identified (for external training courses) and/or (internal) training sessions are planned and conducted.
4. Training sessions attendance
-
Employees will need to attend their training according to the Employee Training Plan. If they fail to complete the Training Plan, it will be reflected in the employee’s performance review.
5. Evaluation of Training Session
-
Employees will then submit an evaluation of the attended training session to Human Resources Department.
6. Work Effectiveness After Attending Training
-
About 3 months after attending the planned training session, Department Managers are required to evaluate employees and submit a Skills Acquisition Evaluation Form.
-
This assessment will measure the effectiveness of the training attended and provide feedback to the organisation on the quality of the training course.
-
This assessment also serves to provide input to the employee’s performance appraisal.
-
-
Human Resources will then proceed to update the training database and consolidate employee’s training records.
