Is Your Business Eligible For PEMULIH's Electricity Bill Discount?

Following the government's announcement on the implementation of the PEMULIH Package on 28 June 2021, electricity bill discounts will be given to the following target groups based on total monthly electricity consumption for three months from 1 July 2021 to 30 September 2021:

PEMULIH electricity bill discount

Electricity bill discount under PEMULIH Package is given for three (3) months for electricity consumption from 1 July 2021 to 30 September 2021 for residential consumers (Tariff A - Domestic) up to 900kWh per month and low voltage small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Meanwhile, for commercial users from 6 selected business sectors, the PEMULIH discount is from 1 October 2021 to 31 December 2021. For usage from 1 July 2021 to 30 September 2021, the discount is under the PEMERKASA Plus package.

Additionally, all TNB users will continue to enjoy an ICPT rebate of RM0.02 per kWh for monthly electricity consumption from 1 July 2021 to 31 December 2021.

Six business sectors eligible for the 10%discount

• Hotel operators,

• Theme parks,

• Convention centres,

• Shopping malls,

• Local airline companies' offices, and

• Travel agencies.

Those from the six selected sectors that have received a 10% discount under PEMERKASA will automatically receive a 10% discount under PEMERKASA+ and PEMULIH.

Types of tariffs eligible for electricity bill discount

The types of tariffs that are eligible to receive electricity bill discounts are as follows:

• Industrial - SME (Tariff D, Ds, D_ETOU): 5% Discount

• Specific Agriculture - SME (Tariff H): 5% Discount

• Commercial - SME (Tariff B*): 5% Discount

• Commercial - 6 Selected Business Sectors (Tariff B, C1, C2 and Special Agreement): 10% Discount

Will the PEMULIH package discount be included in the July 2021 bill?

The PEMULIH package discount will be given from 1 July to 30 September 2021.

Customers will be able to see discounts on electricity bills dated 15 July 2021 onwards. For customers who receive a bill dated between 1 - 14 July 2021, the discount amount (eligible) for July 2021 will be included in the August 2021 bill.

Customers who receive bill throughout July 2021 will enjoy a discount according to the days of usage in July 2021. The discount provided also accounts for the ICPT rebate of RM0.02 per kWh.

The PEMULIH discount will be in full effect for August and September 2021 bills.

5% Discount for low voltage SME customers

A 5% discount is given to low voltage SME customers in these categories:

• Commercial (Tariff B), 

• Industrial (Tariff D),

• Specific agriculture (Tariff H).

Do SME customers need to apply for the 5% discount?

No. A 5% discount is automatically given to all low voltage TNB customers under the Commercial (Tariff B), Industrial (Tariff D) and Specific Agriculture (Tariff H) categories.

SME customers with medium or high voltage levels are not eligible for the 5% discount.
