Now there's a one-stop centre for small and medium entrepreneurs to register their business and apply for a business licence online.

The MalaysiaBiz Portal aims to create a trade-friendly environment to encourage competitiveness and spur local economic growth. The Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) developed the portal.

Launched last year, the government developed the portal after realising the importance of digital platforms in business and the contributions of SMEs to the country's income.

MalaysiaBiz Portal also provides information on business licenses issued by government agencies, including federal, state and local authorities.

Another feature of the portal is the implementation of the 12-digit format numbers as new business entity identification numbers to standardise all kinds of business entities.

Types of services offered by MalaysiaBiz Portal

There are five types of services under business registration and license application offered by the portal:

  • New application;

  • Renewal;

  • Amendment and correction;

  • Termination; and

  • Printing of certificate or receipt and others.

The online system oversees the registration of 23 business types, including:

  • Sole proprietorship,

  • Partnership,

  • Cooperatives,

  • Corporations, and

  • Multi-disciplinary practice.

The MalaysiaBiz Portal also offers business data purchasing facility through the MyBiz-Data menu, providing information on business registration data from the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM).

You can find more of the user guide manuals here.

Registration

For information searching, users do not need to register with the portal. But, users must create a MalaysiaBiz account if they want to register a business and apply for licenses via the portal.

Checking application and printing licence

Users can check their application status in their personal MalaysiaBiz Portal account at "MyTracker", "MyLicense", or "MyBusiness" module.

Once approved, users can print the certificates in the "MyBusiness" or "MyLicense" module at the MalaysiaBiz Portal, depending on the printing authorisation by the relevant agencies.

As for the approval period, it depends on the client charter of the agency.

MalaysiaBiz Portal offers a helpdesk service to create users' inquiries based on the general topic regarding the portal, topics of registration, licensing, payment, technical, MyBiz-Data or EzBiz.

You can learn more about it here. You can also call MyGovernment Call Centre at 03-8000 8000 to learn more about the MalaysiaBiz Portal.
